History & Geography

History and Geography at Yeading Infants forms part of the Foundation subjects.

Children are given valuable opportunities to learn about the local area in terms of physical and human geography through lots of interactive resources like Google Maps, media, photographs and local visits. Through carefully planned lessons, children learn about geography of the seasons and of the weather they experience. Importance is placed on providing learning through first-hand experiences, so children expertly recognise and use fieldwork and observational skills to make connections in their learning.

During History lessons, children learn about key historical figures from a wide range of backgrounds, including notable persons from our own area, Hillingdon. Significant contributions are contributed Children use photographic evidence to discuss changes in living memory, including since they were babies.
