P.E.
At Yeading Infants and Nursery School we value and support of a high-quality physical education. We have successfully implemented the ‘Funs’ curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. We pride ourselves in providing opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Our activities and learning scheme provides opportunities to compete in sport and other activities to build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
Our Aims work in guidance of the national curriculum for physical education
Aims
To ensure that all pupils:
- Develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
- Are physically active for sustained periods of time
- Engage in competitive sports and activities
- Lead healthy, active lives.
At the end of each stage:
Pupils are expected to know, apply and understand the matters, skills and processes specified in the relevant programme of study.
How we keep fit ?
- Taekwondo
We provide a range of clubs to support the physical and social development for every child. In Taekwondo the children learn how to respect each other, patience and self-control. We have seen a huge improvement with some children with challenging behaviour in the social day-to-day interaction with their peers and good progress in their academically.
- Football
We encourage boys and girls to participate in the sport of football. The children have learnt a range of skills, and we are so fortunate to have a ranger from QPR to provide professional coaching for our children.
- Playground Games
As part of a new venture this year we have provided an Archery club with a professional coach supplied by our SHSSN
